USF Research Foundation Boiler Replacement
Tampa, FL
Science & Technology
This project was part of the infrastructure plan to replace two 9,000,000 BTUh natural gas boilers in a large laboratory & research facility. Their age and low efficiency was the primary reason for the project. Akin Brooks started the project with an assessment of the existing heating hot water system and provided a life cycle cost analysis for various replacement options. One 3,000,000 and one 6,000,000 condensing boiler type was selected and designed. Akin Brooks provided detailed surveys and developed new sequences better suited for this facility and its extreme changes in heating hot water demand.
