This new science and research facility replaces the existing 45-year-old existing facility. The new facility includes wet laboratory, office support and seawater life support system. The commissioning scope includes new AHUs (100% and Mixed Air), Laboratory Control, water cooled chilled water plant, heating hot water boiler system, laboratory spaces, emergency power system, lighting control system, chilled beam system and a complete building automation system. Akin Brooks brought their extensive BSL2 laboratory experience during the design review process, ensuring the owner’s project requirements are being achieved with regards to maintainability, efficiency and operational understanding.
